Total copy of the Hunger Games. Nuff said. Read some and got really bored. Terrible style also.
Great read. Took me a bit to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. Very different book compared to all the other teen books out there. I would recommend this to both teens and adult.
One of the best new books out for teen right now! Sure to be made into a movie
This book is slow and a bit hard to get into, but once you get into it, it is a great read. This book has a very unique and interesting plot, and it's a very unusual romance :)
Unlike anything I've read before. This novel is character-driven like the author's other books (about faeries and werewolves), but with a plot that is fascinating in both its simplicity and depth. What you would expect to get if The Black Stallion met the Kentucky Derby. An excellent read.
Unlike her previous wolves trilogy, scorpio races was unbearably slow and so difficult to grasp. I got one hundred and fifty pages into the book before I wanted to throttle it. There's so much lead up and after a while, I wanted to scream 'we get it! the horses are dangerous and ugly.' It doesn't feel like a romance story, but truth is, I didn't finish the book. So if Sean and Puck ever do anything exciting besides wrestle capill usices all the live long day, I wouldn't know and I'm not planning on figuring out.
In my opinion, this book is really slow and hard to get into up untill the actual races.
A wonderful book. Beautifully written--“the wind is a live, starving thing”; “a pale blue morning that needs time to become pleasant”--the story is filled with surprising humor and a not maudlin poignancy. Some have mentioned that the story is “slow” to start. There might not be action in the physical sense, but you’re given the opportunity to get to know and understand these characters and their worlds. So, when the “action”--the race--starts, you know who to root for...and know that the story is not really about the race. Do not miss enjoying this book because it’s considered young adult. I am not a “young” adult; just an adult who loves a great story, told exceptionally well. I’m purchasing a copy so it’ll be available for re-reading whenever I want.
Simply. Thrilling. Romantic, cruel, fey, horsey, comic, Irish. If you grew up on Black Beauty and Misty of Chincoteague, you'll probably like this. It's also a little dark and mysterious like the North Sea, so fans of Cillian Murphy and Gabriel Byrne movies might like it too. I must go back and read her werewolf trilogy, starting with Shiver.
