Another brilliant turn to the series. This was not mentioned in the summary but some of it takes place in the past, explaining at why Allegra did not take her bond with Charles to the full extent and went to be with Ben, her human familiar and lover. Until about halfway through it was slightly boring to me. I enjoyed seeing it from character’s view. Personally I wish there was more Jack’s point of view because, to me, he’s the most interesting character. The ending had me wide-eyed and shocked. She’s always good with leaving off with a cliffhanger. I suggest that you read her new branch off series, The Witches of East End, before this one. There’s at least one character mentioned in it that’s from the series. Since I haven’t read it yet I had no idea who the person was at all. So coming from a personal experience I’d read The Witches of East End before this one.
One of the best ones yet. I wasn't too pleased with the last one, but De la Cruz redeemed herself in this one. De la Cruz mixed the past with the present in this book and it gives you a good history on someone who has been in the background most of the series, but you have been dying to know more about. Nice touch. There is only one book left after this, and its hard to believe, but most of you know there is a spin off series from this series. I hope the spin off comes before the last book, it might tie things in nicely.
This book was good, but it had been so long since I read the earlier books that I forgot a lot of what happened. In my opinion, the earlier books were better. It was also a little weird not to have Bliss in this book at all. This book didn't hold my attention very well, either. Not sure if I'll read any upcoming books in this series.
