Add a CommentA decent film. Kept my interest throughout the film
like the movie said it is based on a twisted true story u know
Kirsten Dunst, Ryan Gosling, and Frank Langella are perfect for their roles. This film is based upon real events, but the names have been changed because not all facts are known. The structure of the story is so convoluted, I had to watch it twice to determine exactly what was happening. The real events were so convoluted, that nobody was ever even charged with two of the alleged major crimes. Excellent portrayal of an innocent soul dragged down by a deeply demented character. I just saw Gosling in Half Nelson and Blue Valentine. He is an actor of incredible versatility.
Absorbing, well acted murder drama based on true events.
Sordid American true-crime drama about a psychologically brutalized rich kid turned homicidal ne’er-do-well. I wish that the film and its strong cast had ignored historical precedent entirely and concentrated on delivering a better story instead. I thought this was pretty good! Kirsten Dunst, Ryan Gosling and Frank Langella did an amazing job. The movie was part love story/ part horror movie. Overall, I recommend!
This movie was slow, disturbed and should be renamed "Not Very Good"
Good - All Good Things (2010) 101 min. While watching this film inspired by true events, I wondered how some allow themselves to be controlled by others - in this case, a woman played by Kirsten Dunst being controlled by her husband played by Ryan Golsing. And the answer came to me in that they don't allow themselves to be controlled per se; only that it takes time, sometimes years, to fully comprehend what is truly happening to them. It's only in times of abuse (whether verbal or physical) that the control begins to hit home. Also, I don't think anyone wants to admit to themselves that they've chosen wrong; which allows that time I mentioned to pass before something is done. Both Dunst and Gosling provide great performances though the last act becomes somewhat confusing. The viewer could easily relate to the fear portrayed by Dunst. The film plays like a drama but could easily be characterized a horror.
