Quotes
Add a QuoteI couldn't bring myself to say "Archer" out loud. I'd have felt like I was in an episode of Masterpiece Theatre: "Archer! Let us fetch a spot of tea, old boy!"
"BAD DOG!!"

Comment
Add a Commenti would rate this 4/5. the only thing keeping it from a five is that i dont know what happens to archer cross!!!!! but i think he comes back in the next book demon glass! i have it now, i have to read it!!!
this was definitly one of the best books ever. now im wondering if archer comes back in the second book? anyways, i am head over heels in love with archer and i rlly hope he and sophie get back together!!!! and i really think they should make a movie out of this series cause its awesome!!!!!!
Usually, in a book like this (well any book really :P) the first thing i comment about would be the romance between the characters - the first thing i LOOK for would be if theres any in the story, even the slightest bit. but i couldn't care less about it in this book! there WAS romance, but it wasn't the greatest type that made you all warm and fuzzy, or cooing "aww" every few seconds. Sophie's and Archer's relationship wasn't really built up properly for me to think it was cute or yeah. ANYWAY. I didn't care. Usually i would, but i didn't. because the book itself was so funny and refreshing and i just wanted to know more about the PLOT itself, instead of the romance in it. i loved it so much. sophie is one of the rare female characters who isn't a) a "loser" that somehow has guys falling for her and completely annoys me at how useless she is, or b) really tough (like katniss or katsa) and i absolutely admire and stuff. she's "average" but in a very hilarious way that I can't help but love her so much. even if the whole plot about witches and vampires, werewolves, faeries... so on, are overused, i still found this book very enjoyable. my only concern (back to the romance) was that the author did not build it up enough to have sophie ALREADY fall in love with archer so quickly. she barely knew him! (or actually, WE, the readers barely knew him) and so it was hard to see what was so great about him. i still really liked the book though :)
To be honest, I thought I would enjoy this book, but I didn't really. I found the book plot to be simple, too simple, and it wasn't super original or creative. As well, some of the characters had very inconsistent and flimsy personalities, and the author didn't drop enough hints for parts of the ending to really be sold.
I really liked this book! It has a good plot, realistic characters and a lot of humour too. It's written more for a younger teen crowd, I would say - but still really great. Totally recommend it and I can't wait to read the next one!!
I hope the sequel is as good as this book. It's been awhile since a new author in this genre has grabbed my attention so thoroughly - read the book twice. I want to know what happens next!!
THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER!!! If you're looking for adventure, romance, and humour, you should read this book.
I really enjoyed this. It's not especially unique - it's a girl at a secret high school for paranormal creatures, and there are lots of those out there (Vampire Academy, Born at Midnight, Evernight, Immortals, etc). But the voice is great and the main character is fun - she reminds me of a YA Sookie Stackhouse. There is romance but it's not swoony and over-the-top. The plot is good, and the ending is exciting. It's also a very fast read.
I absoulty fell in love with this book! I started reading it and then a friend of mine read it and now we're both completely in love it!
I really enjoyed this book. The suspenseful ending was a perfect counter balance to the romance factor in the novel. There was also quite a bit of humor which made the book ten times better. Archer was a fav til the end til he had a little bump in the road, if u read you'll understand. I love this book and cant wait 4 demonglass
