Summary
Add a SummaryYoung Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12. The thrill-packed final installment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy will keep young hearts pounding.
Katniss Everdeen is the Mockingjay. She's the leader of the rebels, staged against the Capital. She's assigned to take it down, to motivate people, to encourage the rebellion. But with Peeta in the Capital's hands, saying rebellious things to the world, District 13 is absolute sure that Peeta is a traitor, however, Katniss does not. When it is arranged for a rescue, Peeta comes back enraged, and controlled by the Capital's tampering. Katniss soon loses hope in Peeta, and begins to train for the offical day of the rebellion. When it is time, Peeta comes along, better, but still suffering torturous flashbacks. Through the mission, they lose Jackson, Leeg 1 and Leeg 2, Boggs, Finnick, and many others. When they finally reach the Capital, Gale, Peeta and Katniss part ways. When Katniss reaches President Snow's mansion, she is severly injured by a bombing there in the mansion. She wakes up, discovering Prim, her younger sister, is dead, but the rebellion is won, and District 13's president, President Coin, is now the ruler of Panem. At the execution of President Snow, Katniss does the honours. However, she shoots President Coin instead. She is captured, and put in a room, then later released, with no consequences whatsoever. She goes back to District 12, feeling the effects of war and battle, but slowly recovers. In the end, Peeta and Katniss fall in love again and get married, having two children. However, they're aren't any Hunger Games, happening. But even in twenty years, Peeta and Katniss could never forget these events, haunting them for a lifetime.

Add a NoticeOther: You are all babies. this book is fine. if you have a problem with violence, stop reading this series.
Other: About the "Sexual Content" it's not blatant, if a kid is reading it they might not even get it that that is what the author was implying. So don't not let your kids read it on that account. As for the violence, all 3 books have violence, but it's not SO bad. I'm generally not into violence in books but I LOVED the Hunger Games.
Violence: You will have nightmares.
Violence: This book contains violence
Violence: There is a lot of blood and violence. I dont recommend people under the age of 12+ should read this unless they are sure that they won't have nightmares.

Well don't expect to be impressed says Boggs, we just saw Finnick Odair in his underwear
Someday I'll tell them , in a way that will make them braver. I'll tell them about the nightmares why the came, why they'll never really go away. I'll tell them how on bad mornings it feels impossible to take pleasure in anything because it could be taken away. That's when i make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than 20 years, but there are much worse games to play.
so when he asks me do i love him real or not real. I say "Real"

Add a CommentThis book left me sooo depressed... If you've read the two first books of this series, reading this is pretty much a must, and it is a good book. *Spoiler Alert* Finnick and Prim shouldn't have died.... :'(
The final book to this trilogy did not affect me or excite me as much as the first two books. Although I did enjoy the details of district 13, the politics behind the two governments, and the affects on Peeta and his road to recovery, I still found the story somewhat underwhelming. There were some nice twists and turns and I was entertained, but compared to some of the other books i've been reading I found this book just didn't keep my interest. There were just too many surprise deaths that I felt was there only to evoke some kind of emotion in the reader and I just didn't feel the intensity of the conflict and hatred between Katniss and President Snow. I felt their relationship could've been developed much better. There were more new traps and dangers in this book that had too similar of a feel to what was already introduced in the first two books and I felt by the third book it was already getting tired. Katniss and her rebelliousness also started getting tired and unbelievable for me as well, a bit over the top and no real development for the heroine. Still overall this book had its moments and it tied up the story in a way I enjoyed. To complete the trilogy, it's worth the read.
The final book, Mockingjay, in Suzanne Collins' trilogy, is a masterpiece and an emotional finale of the world we know as Panem. I find myself brought to tears in parts, as like the other two books, you have become to know Katniss, Peeta, Prim, Gale, Haymitch, and so many other character's who have actually, through fiction, leave a lasting impression in your mind. I was sad that the series have ended for me, because like I experienced with Harry Potter, I could not stop reading them, until I found myself at the end of the third book. This series has made a full circle in answering questions throughout each of the books, and especially in "mockingjay" where the pieces of the "game" all come together. I cannot recommend these books enough, and will continue to lend out my own copies (so good, I bought the hardcover trilogies =0). If you are looking for a great fictional read, but one that offers you a sense of reality (ex. the loss of life and emotions that come with), this book will sweep you off your feet!
3rd of series
This book isn't the best off the trilogy, but it is still good. The only problem was that I wanted to keep reading this trilogy, but I didn't want it to end!
i wish it wold be at least 6 books....
Omg. This was the worst book in the series. >.<
I loved this book and how it ended! Since we can't bring electronics when we go to school, i borrowed my teachers while i had it on my Kobo! This was a great way to end a series and a very twist ending.
I thin I'm angry at this book...only because it ended. /:(
Wonderful, best trillogy I have ever read! @jabumafu I'm happy who ended up together too, a couple times i belived she would end up with the other person (if you read Mockingjay you know which couple I'm talking about.) @gillpower It's an opinon, personally I think Cathing Fire is the best book in the trilogy. It puts together the content of the 1st and 3rd book and is a wonderful transtion.
