What a wonderfully creative book. The take on vampires was quite unique and if I may say - incredibly well thought out. In this novel vampires are not the all powerful stalkers in the night as we have thought of them for many a year, but they are sickly, weak and completely lack in any corageousness. Story line itself was rather dull, somewhat tiresome and definitely been done before. I would still give it a read just to read the wonderfully graphic descriptions of bleeding eye sockets and vomitting black tar. Enjoy!

A great book. Months after, I find myself still thinking about some of the plot twists and characters. I listened to it on audio, the australian accent added to the telling of the story.

A funny book with a different take on Vampires and the "life" they lead. Suitable for tweens and teens.

"There's no way we could make you do anything that you don't want to do. Not us. We don't have what it takes." For some reason, this particular argument struck a chord. Reuben's scowl yielded first to a pensive expression, then to a slow and sweet (though slightly crazed) little smile. "I dunno about that," he said. "If you wanted me to take you dancing, I reckon I would. And I hate dancing."

"The plain fact is, I can't do anything much. That's part of the problem. Vampires are meant to be so glamorous and powerful, but I'm here to inform you that being a vampire is nothing like that. Not one bit. On the contrary, it's like being stuck indoors with the flu watching daytime televistion, forever and ever."
