And certainly something curious about me. Why can I remember the details of the French Revolution but I can't remember if I ever had a best friend?"

Add a CommentHad to read this for a university children's lit class. It did get me page turning at first, but the trite, teenage relationships read a little too much like wish-fulfillment (like the terrible stuff I used to write when I was 15!). Good for younger readers, I suppose. I would've been allll over that when I was younger.
I absolutely adored this book! i can't wait for the movie (At least i hear there's gonna be a movie...)
This book is an overlooked gem in the YA genre. Part dystopian, part sci-fi, and all gripping.
I wonder when this book is set in? It's definitely somewhere in the future, but where?
I seriously don't think it was that good. It was very cliche-ridden, corny, and unpractical. After a while, I got really annoyed at all the fragmented and cryptic sentences, and the epic/dramatic endings of each "chapter" (there are roughly a hundred short "chapters" in this book). Also, there really is no real plot here. No offence, but I really think everyone else is over-rating this book.
I love this book, it was like a mystery that had to solved. I've never read a book with a plot like this before. . . . but if I had the chance I'd read it again.
This would have to be one of the best books I've read in a very long time. I would recommend this to anyone interested in speculative fiction, biology, the future... pretty much anybody.
This was one of those books that stuck with me for a while after I finished it. I loved the plot of the book: how far would you go to protect the ones you love? How far is too far? It read a little like a mystery, which kept me turning the pages. The end seemed a bit too neatly wrapped up for my tastes, but overall this was an enjoyable read.
The Adoration of Jenna Fox is absolutely stunning. The plot is an ingenius story and the insightful questions it poses will force you to rethink your previous thoughts on the subject. The story all boils down to: When is enough? Where is the line for medical science? What is TOO far? In a growing medical world, we really have to keep these things in mind. But can we let someone we could save go? It'll send your mind reeling.
One of the best futuristic stories I have read in a long time. When reading the synopsis I wasn't sure I would like it but it was definitely one that i couldn't put down. The characters were so heartfelt and the setting so honest that at times I felt like I was with Jenna within the story. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a futuristic book with a dash of self discovery.
